Data sources & methodology

Understand where each number comes from.

Market data

Our market-data integration uses Financial Modeling Prep. Public data display is enabled only after the appropriate agreement is in place. Prices and holdings carry their provider timestamps; unavailable values appear as a dash.

Filings and documents

Official regulatory filings come from SEC EDGAR. Filing dates are different from inception and listing dates. A proposal to launch a fund does not confirm a market launch.

Returns and distributions

Total returns use dividend-adjusted prices. Monthly, quarterly, and annual windows use 21, 63, and 252 trading sessions. YTD starts at the previous year’s final close. Distribution yield uses the sum of payouts over the preceding 12 months divided by price. SEC yield is displayed separately when available.

Comparisons and risk

Bucket averages are simple averages of available returns. S&P 500 comparisons use VOO. Peer percentiles exclude the current fund, ties, and unavailable values. The five-level risk indicator is our rule-based classification, not a forecast or standardized credit rating.

Development previews

Local design previews carry a Sample data label. Their illustrative values do not describe current markets and are excluded from the public site.
