The YLDW fund is a diversified, multi-asset investment vehicle primarily dedicated to income generation. Its core objectives are to deliver regular monthly distributions to shareholders and maintain a lower risk profile than portfolios exclusively focused on equities. The investment team utilizes a rigorous, research-intensive, bottom-up selection approach, seeking out companies that demonstrate strong cash flow, improving financial health, and dependable distribution capabilities. The fund's returns are generated through dividends, interest income, option premiums, and the potential for capital appreciation. A defining feature of its strategy is the implementation of covered calls on a substantial portion of its equity investments. This strategy serves to enhance income through collected premiums, provide a degree of downside protection, and boost yield in sideways markets, though it naturally constrains upside potential during robust bull markets. The portfolio encompasses a broad range of assets, including common stocks that pay dividends, preferred shares, convertible securities, corporate bonds, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs), and money market instruments. Up to 40% of its holdings may be in foreign securities or American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), and the fund may also incorporate other derivative instruments.
Distribution yield and SEC yield use different methodologies. Payouts may include income, capital gains, or return of capital.
