The index specifically targets corporations that have demonstrated an unbroken track record of dividend increases over two decades or more, subsequently assigning weight to these holdings based on their current dividend yield. This stringent requirement for a prolonged history of rising dividends ensures that the index constituents offer a blend of potential capital appreciation and reliable income, rather than being purely high-yielding investments.
