The Milliman Healthcare Inflation Plus ETF (MHIP) is designed to shield and enhance investors' purchasing power against the backdrop of escalating medical expenditures. This is accomplished by leveraging proprietary actuarial data and sophisticated quantitative modeling. The fund’s analytical framework relies on Milliman's extensive database of actual healthcare claims, encompassing approximately 35 million insured individuals, to project future healthcare inflation through the examination of medical and pharmacy cost trajectories. Its investment portfolio encompasses both equity and fixed income securities spanning the entire healthcare supply chain, augmented by various inflation-hedging instruments such as commodities, Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), and conventional Treasury bonds. Typically, the MHIP portfolio undergoes monthly rebalancing, guided by a quantitative model that dynamically adjusts to shifts in US healthcare cost inflation. Specifically, the strategy increases its exposure to equities and commodities during periods of elevated inflation, conversely pivoting towards debt instruments when inflation levels are lower. The fund's holdings may further include derivative products like swaps, options, and futures contracts, as well as exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
