The LOGIQ Contrarian Opportunities ETF (LCO) is an actively managed fund aiming to achieve a comprehensive total return, derived from both capital growth and income generation. This ETF employs a contrarian investment philosophy, identifying opportunities by taking positions against prevailing market sentiment. Its strategy involves acquiring stakes in companies that are out of favor with other investors, primarily due to their perceived undervaluation. The portfolio may hold a diverse array of assets, including domestic and international stocks, preferred shares, various fixed-income securities, U.S. government bonds, and units of other pooled investment vehicles like ETFs. When selecting individual equities, the management scrutinizes factors such as current valuation, projected earnings expansion, cash flow generation, balance sheet integrity, sector prospects, competitive advantages, the caliber of its leadership, and broader economic indicators. For fixed-income investments, the evaluation process encompasses the creditworthiness of the issuer, the yield in relation to maturity, the underlying financial health of the issuing entity, market liquidity, susceptibility to interest rate fluctuations, and the overall contribution to portfolio diversification. Typically comprising between 30 and 75 distinct holdings, the portfolio usually dedicates the largest portion to equity investments. Furthermore, the fund strategically employs options contracts to enhance income streams, mitigate potential risks, and moderate overall portfolio volatility. The holdings are consistently re-evaluated and adjusted as market conditions evolve.
